The Eternal Hourglass
AOP-47
Velic
AOP-47 is a hand-sized hourglass encased in a tarnished bronze frame, filled with shimmering, silver-like sand. Observers describe the sand as having a faint, almost hypnotic glow that seems to pulse in rhythm with the viewer's heartbeat. While the sand falls at a seemingly normal pace, tests have revealed that it does not adhere to consistent time intervals—flow rates vary depending on external conditions and proximity to living beings. When flipped, the hourglass causes localized temporal distortions. Subjects within a 10-meter radius report experiencing: Time Loops: Reliving the same sequence of events for durations varying from minutes to hours. Time Compression: Minutes passing in seconds, often accompanied by extreme disorientation. Time Dilations: Seconds stretching into what feels like hours, inducing anxiety and, in extreme cases, catatonia.
